You probably took advantage of Squarespace’s free domain for the first year (good choice!), and now you’d like to transfer it to another registrar (hopefully me!). The easiest way to do this is to click the Contact Rae button and let me handle it for you, but if you’d prefer to do it yourself, follow the steps in this article in the Squarespace Help Centre:
The following instructions are specific to WordPress sites hosted by Accurate Expressions. If your WordPress site is hosted with someone else, please refer to their documentation regarding how to create a staging site.
Click Invite and enter the email address of the person youโd like to invite.
Click Access and select the role youโd like to assign to this person from the table below (if you’re adding me, please add me as an Editor … more info on Channel permissions role types here)
To add a collaborator to your Wix website, follow these steps:
From you site’s dashboard, click on Settings > Roles & permissions
Click the blue Invite Collaborators button
Enter your collaboratorโs email address
Select the checkbox next to the relevant role/s (if you’re adding me, please selectย Admin)
Click Send Invite (you can skip the next screen that says “Let us know how you’re connected”, or you can select the appropriate option and click Done! If you’re adding me, you can select An agency or freelancer)
Your collaborator will then receive an invitation from Wix (wix-team@notifications.wix.com)
When you set up your email address on your different devices, you have to choose IMAP or POP3. These days, you’re mostly choosing IMAP so you can access your emails from any and all of your devices. But what is IMAP? This video from Mailtrap explains it all brilliantly …
These are their 10 steps … and you can read the full article for more information on each step:
1. Donโt open mail from strangers
2. Make sure your devices are up to date
3. Use strong passwords
4. Use two-factor authentication
5. Donโt click on strange-looking links
6. Avoid using unsecured public Wi-Fi
7. Back up your data regularly
8. Be smart with financial information
9. Educate your family
10. Avoid sharing personal information
I personally also recommend using Malwarebytes to protect your devices. You can install a free version, but the Premium version will give you better protection for less than ten bucks a month. NB: I’m not affiliated with Malwarebytes, just a happy customer!
Ahhhhh fonts … welcome to the rabbit hole!! Nothing speaks clearer than a good font. And nothing makes you go ewwww more than a bad font (I’m talking to you Comic Sans and Papyrus, though even they have their place).
There are thousands of font libraries out there … here are a couple of my favourite. Some are free, some are not. Make sure you purchase the correct license before using any font anywhere.
